1. Who can apply for the Master’s in Psychology at the State University of Londrina?

Graduates or undergraduates in Psychology and related areas (Humanities, Social, Health, and Education Sciences) may apply. Undergraduates, if approved in the selection process, must present certificate of course completion at the time of enrollment.

    2.How many places will be offered at the university?

    Up to 24 (twenty-four) places will be offered in each selection, distributed among the Program’s Areas.

    3. Is there a Special Student Category?

    Yes, every semester there will be a specific announcement for this type of student. On this website, we have a page that explains in detail the Special Student Category.

    4. On which week days will the courses be taught?

    Classes are usually held on Wednesdays (2pm-6pm), Thursdays (8am-12am and 2pm-6pm) and Fridays (8am-12pm). It is necessary that the candidate schedules himself/herself to be available at these times, as all subjects taught in the first semester are compulsory.

    5. Is it possible to take the compulsory courses at different times and dates – out of the scheduled times?

    No. The approved master’s student must register and take all the courses organized for each semester, and must fulfill all the obligatory credits for that semester. Postponing mandatory credits is not allowed.

    6.What is required for Proof of Proficiency in a Foreign Language?

    Applicants must present one of the following authenticated documents, certifying at least intermediate level and with an expiration date of no more than 3 years:

      TESE PRIME English (TEAP) or Spanish (TEPLE), in Humanities.
      Certified copy of the Proficiency Certificate in a Foreign Language (placement test) at an intermediate or superior level (English or Spanish) issued by competent foreign language schools, through an evaluation carried out in person.
      Certified copy of the Foreign Language Course Completion Certificate (English or Spanish) at intermediate or superior level, issued by competent foreign language schools.
      Certificate of approval in a Foreign Language Exam (English or Spanish) issued by other Stricto Sensu Graduate Programs.

      7. Is it possible to present the online tests provided by language schools as Proof of Proficiency in a Foreign Language?

      No. The document proving Proficiency in a Foreign Language (placement test) must be submitted through written test, carried out in person in  certified foreign language schools. Therefore, online tests from language schools will not be accepted.

      8. How can I find out the faculty’s areas of interest?

      This information is available on this website, in the menu Faculty, in which you can also access the teachers’ Lattes resumes.  In addition,  on the Program’s Facebook  page, links are periodically published with publications and events (organized and attended) by the professors who make up the Program.

      9. Can the candidate nominate an advisor?

       No. At the time of registration, the candidate must choose which of the two lines of research he/she wishes to be evaluated in. The research lines are described on this site, in the About the Program and Projects menus.

      10. Will there be a list of bibliographic references for the Specific Knowledge test?

      Yes, a new bibliographic reference list will be made available on the site with each announcement, if this type of test is planned.

      11.When will the registration period for the selection process open?

      The registration for the selection process will take place in the second semester of each year (between August and September), followed by the selection that usually takes place between September and December, according to the general calendar for Stricto Sensu courses at the State University of Londrina.

      12.When will the Selection Notice be published?

      The selection announcement for the Master’s in Psychology will be available in July at PROPPG’s website (www.uel.br/proppg/) and on the Program’s website (pos.uel.br/psicologia/).

      13. Can students who are still in their last year of their undergraduate studies apply for the selection process?

      Yes, students in their last year of undergraduate studies can enroll in the selection process by submitting a document proving graduation or a certificate issued by the institution showing that they are enrolled in their last year of undergraduate studies.

        However, if they are approved, they must deliver the diploma or official completion certificate at the time of enrollment. This document must state the graduation date (day/month/year) and this date must be prior to the enrollment in the Master in Psychology at UEL.  Without this document, the approved student will not be able to enroll and will lose the right to the place.

        14. Does the program offer scholarships for students?

        Yes, the program offers scholarships for students and these are awarded through a selection process defined by the PPSPSI collegiate based on CAPES institutional rules (Ordinance no. 76 of April 14, 2010, article 9). For more information, go to Scholarships.

        15. What is the Teaching Internship?

        It consists of an internship in which the Master’s student has the experience of following the work of a professor linked to the PPGPSI who works in the Psychology undergraduate course at the State University of Londrina. The intern participates in the lesson plan development and the execution of didactic and pedagogical activities. The internship is optional for regular students and mandatory for scholarship students. It lasts 30 hours and requires 2 credits. The PPGPSI encourages its students to do the Teaching Internship as it is an activity of utmost importance for the teacher training.
