Master’s Program

The Master’s degree lasts 24 months — an extension of 6 months may be requested.

For the Master’s level, students must complete 58 (fifty-eight) credits, equivalent to 870 (eight hundred and seventy) hours, distributed as follows:

a) 3 (three) credits in the course Research Methodology in Language Studies (Mandatory);

b) 2 (two) credits in Advanced Studies;

c) 5 (five) credits in Special Activities;

d) 12 (twelve) credits in Elective Courses within the student’s area of concentration;

e) 6 (six) credits in other courses offered by the Program, excluding the Teaching Practicum in Undergraduate Education;f) 30 (thirty) credits for the Master’s Dissertation.

Doctorate Program

The Doctorate lasts 48 months — an extension of 6 months may be requested.

For the Doctorate level, students must complete a minimum of 159 (one hundred and fifty-nine) credits, equivalent to 2,385 (two thousand, three hundred and eighty-five) hours, distributed as follows:

a) 2 (two) credits in Advanced Studies;

b) 7 (seven) credits in Special Activities;

c) 21 (twenty-one) credits in Elective Courses within the student’s area of concentration;

d) 9 (nine) credits in other courses offered by the Program, excluding the Teaching Practicum in Undergraduate Education;e) 120 (one hundred and twenty) credits for the Doctoral Thesis.
