International Applicants

Applicants may participate in the admissions process while residing outside Brazil. Application documents are submitted electronically, and no physical submission of documents is required during the selection process. When an interview is included as a selection stage, international applicants may participate remotely.

International applicants should carefully review the current Call for Applications for information regarding eligibility, required documents, application deadlines, available positions, selection stages, and enrollment procedures.

Academic Background

PPGA-UEL welcomes applicants from different academic and professional backgrounds. Admission is not restricted to applicants holding an undergraduate degree in Business Administration.

Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree that meets the legal and institutional requirements applicable to graduate admission in Brazil. Specific requirements concerning degrees issued by institutions outside Brazil are established in the current Call for Applications and UEL regulations.

Research Lines

Applicants must apply to one of PPGA-UEL’s two research lines:

Management of Organizations (GOR)
Organizations, Power and Society (OPS)

Applicants are encouraged to become familiar with the research line that best matches their academic interests and to review the research interests and current projects of PPGA-UEL faculty members before applying.

The number of available positions in each research line and the faculty members accepting new students are announced in each Call for Applications.

Prospective Supervisors

Applicants should review the academic profiles and research interests of PPGA-UEL faculty members before submitting their application. Calls for Applications may require applicants to indicate potential supervisors whose research interests are compatible with their proposed research.

The indication of a potential supervisor does not constitute a guarantee of supervision. Supervisor assignments are made by the Program according to academic compatibility, faculty availability, and the distribution of supervision responsibilities.

Research Proposal Guidelines for PPGA Admissions

A research proposal is a mandatory part of the PPGA admission process and should be submitted to present your intended research in a clear and structured way. Below is the recommended structure and a brief explanation of each section:

1. Title

  • A concise and descriptive title that reflects the central focus of your research.

2. Research Line Choice

  • Indicate which of the two PPGA research lines your proposal aligns with Organizational Management or Organizations, Power, and Society. Briefly explain how your research fits this line and contributes to the field.

3. Introduction and Research Question

  • A brief, contextualized introduction to your topic, highlighting its relevance and importance within the field of Administration. End the introduction with a clear research question, and, if possible, state the study’s main objectives.

4. Literature Review

  • A concise review of key academic works relevant to your research topic. Summarize the current state of research and identify gaps or areas that need further investigation, positioning your study within the existing body of knowledge.

5. Research Methods or Design

  • The methodology you plan to use to answer your research question. Include information about the research approach (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed), data collection methods, and how you will analyze the data.

6. References

  • A list of academic sources cited in your proposal. Please, use APA style and ensure all sources referenced in the text are included in this section.
