Computational Mathematical Modelling

Focusing on applied problems in areas such as: Computing, Engineering, Medical and Biological Sciences, among others, the PGMAC Computational Mathematical Modeling research line aims to deduce the equations and/or processes governing these problems by means of mathematical modeling and solve them through numerical and computational methodologies and techniques.

Statistical Modelling

The PGMAC Statistical Modeling Research Line aims to train researchers, teachers and professionals with a solid background in Applied and Computational Statistics, in order to enable them to solve real problems involving modeling, the estimation process and the analysis of data from random phenomena, adapting them to applications in the most diverse areas of knowledge such as medical and biological sciences, agronomy, economics/finance, engineering, etc.

Partial Differential Equations

The main objective of the PGMAC research line in Partial Differential Equations is to study qualitative and quantitative aspects involving mathematical models described by PDEs. In this sense, the focus is to provide an interaction between theories of Mathematical Analysis, theoretical problems and applied problems involving PDEs. Among the topics of interest, we highlight stabilization and control, operator theory, fractional powers and geometric and topological aspects in mathematical problems.
