Curriculum structure

To successfully complete the PhD program, students must complete 198 credits, which correspond to 2.970 hours, distributed as follows:

  • 12 credits in core courses;
  • 16 credits in elective courses;
  • 168 credits for the doctoral dissertation.

All core and elective courses are available here.

Up to 12 credits may be validated from courses taken in other PhD and master’s programs in Social Sciences, Sociology, or other graduate programs, as long as approved by the Program’s Coordinating Committee
