Descrição da linha de pesquisa:
No Laboratório de Fisiologia Metabólica investigamos a contribuição e regulação do metabolismo de glicose hepático (glicólise, glicogenólise e neoglicogênese) para a manutenção da glicemia em diferentes situações, sejam fisiológicas ou patológicas, por meio da técnica de perfusão de fígado in situ. Estudamos também as alterações metabólicas em algumas doenças, como na caquexia associada ao câncer (Walker-256) e no diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (ratos Goto-Kakizaki), pela avaliação de ganho de peso, ingestão alimentar, dosagens bioquímicas de parâmetros metabólicos plasmáticos, teste de tolerância à glicose (GTT), teste de tolerância à insulina (ITT), entre outros.
