This axis encompasses policies related to Teaching, Research, and Outreach; implementation of affirmative action initiatives; internationalization; communication with society; and student and alumni support and follow-up policies.

Goal 3: Strengthen PPGEO’s mechanisms for implementing affirmative actions regarding permanence, accessibility, human rights, and diversity.
Action 1: Ensure affirmative actions to confront racism, xenophobia, sexual and gender-based violence, ableism, ageism, political and religious intolerance, social discrimination, or any other violation of human rights.
Action 2: Implement affirmative action in the admissions process, including racial quotas to increase representativeness in the program and enhance collaboration in integrated projects of this nature.
Action 3: Intensify student follow-up through semester reports, regular meetings, and other strategies to ensure the continued presence of master’s and doctoral students, with ongoing support.

Goal 4: Improve communication with society through the strengthening of Outreach activities.
Action 1: Encourage faculty and student participation in events to promote the Geography Program and its graduate-level activities within the community, expanding external access to the outcomes of our work and reinforcing the university’s social and public mission.
Action 2: Improve support for technical production and provide continuous assistance to outreach activities, encouraging participation in socially impactful projects as well as in knowledge dissemination and innovation initiatives.Goal 5: Implement internationalization initiatives for the program.
The program sees internationalization as a core axis of its academic and scientific activities, with the following actions:
Action 1: Translate the program’s website into Spanish and English to make information accessible to an international audience and broaden the program’s reach.
Action 2: Expand the national and international visibility of the program, ensuring greater access for international students—especially from Latin America—as well as for researchers, professionals, and society at large.
Action 3: Constantly update and maintain the program’s social media channels—including the website, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube—with relevant and current content, detailing the information presented, as recommended by the area committee, to increase visibility and engagement with the target audience and attract students from other regions.
Action 4: Increase the participation of students and faculty in research groups outside PPGEO, in network projects, and in international co-authored publications.
Action 5: Encourage participation in international events, including the presentation and publication of academic work and publication in international journals.
Action 6: Encourage master’s and doctoral students to take courses in other languages, especially English and Spanish, to improve their chances of participating in exchange program calls.
Action 7: Value the sandwich PhD experience, aiming to harness the knowledge acquired by the grantee abroad.
Action 8: Improve conditions and foster greater academic mobility.
