Enrollment and Re-enrollment (each semester):
Students are responsible for completing enrollment and re-enrollment according to the UEL Graduate Program calendar. This process must be carried out via the Graduate Student Portal.
Scholarships:
Students must apply through a specific scholarship call (see the “Scholarships” section). The monthly scholarship amount is R$ 3,100.00.
Duration:
The Doctorate must be completed in no fewer than 4 and no more than 8 academic semesters.
Credits:
Doctoral students in the Graduate Program in Food Science must complete 110 credits, equivalent to 1,650 hours, distributed as follows:
– 30 credits in coursework, including 2 mandatory credits in Advanced Seminars and 4 credits in Undergraduate Teaching Internships I and II
– 80 credits dedicated to the doctoral dissertation
(As established by Regulation No. 53/2024 for students entering from 2025 onward)
Dissertation Proposal:
Students must submit their dissertation project to the Coordinating Committee within 12 months of enrollment in the program. If this deadline is not met, the advisor must provide a written justification to the Coordination for review.
Language Proficiency:
Doctoral students must demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting scientific texts in English in the field of Food Science.
Qualification Exam:
The qualification exam must be requested within a maximum of 30 months after the beginning of the program. Detailed information is available in the Graduate Program Regulations (Regulation No. 096/2018 for students admitted through 2024, and Regulation No. 53/2024 for those admitted from 2025 onward).
Defense Guidelines:
Detailed defense procedures are outlined in the Graduate Program Regulations (Regulation No. 096/2018 for students admitted through 2024, and Regulation No. 53/2024 for those admitted from 2025 onward).
Post-Defense Documentation:
All post-defense documents must be submitted via email to pgalimentos@uel.br, duly completed and signed, along with the corrected version of the dissertation (in both Word and PDF formats), within 30 days of the defense. Physical document submissions or CD copies will not be accepted.
