{"id":1408,"date":"2025-07-01T15:04:28","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T18:04:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pos.uel.br\/ppgel\/?page_id=1408"},"modified":"2025-07-01T15:04:29","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T18:04:29","slug":"masters-doctorate-modality","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pos.uel.br\/ppgel\/en\/masters-doctorate-modality\/","title":{"rendered":"Master\u2019s \/ Doctorate Modality"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Master\u2019s Program<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Master\u2019s degree lasts 24 months \u2014 <strong>an extension of 6 months may be requested<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the Master\u2019s level, students must complete 58 (fifty-eight) credits, equivalent to 870 (eight hundred and seventy) hours, distributed as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a) 3 (three) credits in the course <em>Research Methodology in Language Studies<\/em> (Mandatory);<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b) 2 (two) credits in <em>Advanced Studies<\/em>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>c) 5 (five) credits in <em>Special Activities<\/em>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>d) 12 (twelve) credits in Elective Courses within the student&#8217;s area of concentration;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>e) 6 (six) credits in other courses offered by the Program, excluding the <em>Teaching Practicum in Undergraduate Education<\/em>;f) 30 (thirty) credits for the <em>Master\u2019s Dissertation<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer wp-container-content-b30579f5\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Doctorate Program<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>The Doctorate lasts 48 months \u2014 <strong>an extension of 6 months may be requested.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the Doctorate level, students must complete a minimum of 159 (one hundred and fifty-nine) credits, equivalent to 2,385 (two thousand, three hundred and eighty-five) hours, distributed as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>a) 2 (two) credits in <em>Advanced Studies<\/em>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>b) 7 (seven) credits in <em>Special Activities<\/em>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>c) 21 (twenty-one) credits in Elective Courses within the student&#8217;s area of concentration;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>d) 9 (nine) credits in other courses offered by the Program, excluding the <em>Teaching Practicum in Undergraduate Education<\/em>;e) 120 (one hundred and twenty) credits for the <em>Doctoral Thesis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Master\u2019s Program The Master\u2019s degree lasts 24 months \u2014 an extension of 6 months may be requested.
