Current Number of Scholarships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Program has 33 (thirty-three) CAPES Doctoral scholarships, 2 (two) active CAPES Doctoral scholarships through the Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Arauc\u00e1ria public notice and 1 (one) active CNPQ Doctoral scholarship through the Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Arauc\u00e1ria public notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Master’s level, the Program has 19 (nineteen) CAPES scholarships, 1 (one) CAPES scholarship through the Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Arauc\u00e1ria public notice and 1 (one) active CNPQ scholarship through the Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Arauc\u00e1ria public notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Criteria for Student Classification and Scholarship Distribution \u2013 for students admitted until 2023<\/strong>
The first criterion is the descending order of the score on the writing exam taken during the selection process. The second criterion is to consider students whose advisor does not yet have a scholarship holder, aiming for equity in the number of scholarship holders per advisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Criteria for Student Classification and Scholarship Distribution \u2013 for students admitted from 2024 onwards<\/strong>
Master’s<\/strong>
The first criterion is the descending order of the score on the writing exam taken during the selection process. The second criterion is to consider students whose advisor does not yet have a scholarship holder, aiming for equity in the number of scholarship holders per advisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doctorate<\/strong>
The criterion will be the weighted average of the selection exam score (NS) and the first English exam score (NPPI) applied by the program, following the formula:
(NS x 0.7) + (NPPI x 0.3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scholarships and Employment Links, and Scholarships of Other Nature<\/strong>
The Program has an internal rule regarding the employment link of scholarship holders or the link of scholarships from different sources than those received in GPSEME. It will be possible to request accumulation under only one of the two situations presented below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. GPSEME students who work as teachers in Basic Education or Higher Education<\/strong>
    \u2022 It is allowed to work with a standard of 20 hours per week or up to 20 CONTRACTUAL hours in the private network.
    \u2022 It is necessary to obtain the advisor’s agreement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. PECEM students with scholarships of a different nature<\/strong>
    Accumulation will be allowed if the following criteria are met:
    \u2022 The additional scholarship is from a different source and not from the same payer.
    \u2022 The activity financed by the other scholarship must have an academic character and be related to the field of Education (teaching, research, extension, or educational material production activities).
    \u2022 Presentation and approval of the work plan, indicating the activities to be developed.
    \u2022 Submission of a letter from the advisor confirming awareness and agreement with the scholarship, ensuring that the activities will not interfere with the student’s commitment to GPSEME activities.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Note<\/strong>: The accumulation of scholarships is not allowed if the additional scholarship:
    (a) is of the same nature \u2013 master’s or doctoral scholarship;
    (b) has the same payer source (CAPES or CNPq); and\/or
    (c) finances non-academic activities (activities unrelated to teaching, research, extension, or educational material production).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Starting from October 1, 2023<\/strong>: Students who already have the above-mentioned links before becoming scholarship holders may be eligible for scholarship quotas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The distribution of master’s and doctoral scholarships, after classification, will follow an initial round of distribution for students who do not work and do not receive scholarships. After this distribution, there will be a subsequent distribution considering students with employment links or scholarships established by the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The student must inform the scholarship committee of any existing or future links they may have for evaluation, approval, or maintenance of GPSEME scholarships. In cases where the student does not inform the scholarship committee or fails to submit the required documents, the GPSEME master’s or doctoral scholarship will not be granted or will be canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
