Complementary Activities&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 120h<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The innovative proposal of the program also encourages the graduate students to engage with scientific production and at the same time continuously and effectively interact with society. Therefore, students get 8 credits in Complementary Activities for the following activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1 \u2013 Lectures addressed to elementary and high school students on topics related to health, quality of life and social and animal welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 \u2013 Taking part in the activities of the&nbsp;<em>Programa Sa\u00fade da Fam\u00edlia<\/em>&nbsp;(PFS) of the Federal Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 \u2013 Organising workshops, academic weeks, thematic seminars, field research, gatherings to work in collaboration with undergraduate students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4 \u2013 Direct involvement with clinical field trials during undergraduate practical classes, when students will have the opportunity to develop holistic professional skills, assisting and attending to individual and collective animals, herds and livestock, sharing their opinion and supervising rural and urban communities towards responsible ownership principles and environmental preservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5 \u2013 Participating in routine veterinary procedures and in veterinary emergencies in the Emergency Room of the Veterinary Hospital (UEL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6 \u2013 Practical collaboration in teaching, research, and extension projects under development at the DCV-UEL or at their own institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7- Preservation, reconfiguration, and dissemination of professional principles and values, including reports of mistreatment, preservation of public health, and development of professional innovations through the social network of virtual contacts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fifty-six (56) credits, which correspond to 840 hours of coursework, are required for successful completion of the master\u2019s program.
