The research group on Gravitation, Cosmology and Astroparticles develops research on a broad range of topics in the field of astronomy, both autonomously and in collaboration with universities in the country and around the world. The group’s interests are broad, and range from formal aspects of classical gravity, such as the thermodynamics of black holes, to observational aspects of cosmology, numerical cosmology, field theory in curved spacetimes and quantum gravity, in addition to elementary particle physics and astrophysics. The group also stands out for its participation in important international scientific collaborations, such as the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST), the Dark Energy Survey (DES) and the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO). In recent years, the members of the group have published works of international relevance in the journals: Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, Physical Review D, Physics of the Dark Universe, among others.
